The Taj is a wonder in white marble standing on the shores of River Yamuna. The central structure has four small domes surrounding the huge dome in the center. On the inside Taj Mahal has some exquisitely done calligraphy of the verses from the Holy Quran. It also has various patterns laid out in many precious stones such as jade, crystal, turquoise, lapis, lazuli, sapphire, coral and diamonds, known as the Pietra Dura.

The other tourist attractions at Agra include the Agra Fort, Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb and Akbar's Tomb. Agra is also famous for its Taj souvenirs, leather goods and embroidered works.

The Tigers Tour


On your way from the Taj lie many Tiger Reserves in the state of Rajasthan. Starting from the Corbett National Park, which is one of the oldest parks of India. Lying on the beautiful locales in the Himalayan foothills, the Corbett National Park was the first park where Project Tiger was launched. It also enjoys the reputation of having the highest density of the tigers. It is home to some 50 mammals, 580 bird and 25 reptile species. Apart from tigers, the other wildlife exotica you can spot here are the various species of deer like hog deer, sambar, chital and barking deer. The higher ranges one can spot the elephants also. You can also spot here the sporty fish- Mahaseer, however fishing isn't allowed here. Watch the crocodiles basking in the warmth of sun along the banks.

Taj Mahal and Tigers TourSariska Tiger Reserve, which is set amidst the scenic locales of hills, dales and deep forests. It used to be a royal hunting lodge for the Maharajas of Rajasthan. The reserve is also home to exotica of birds and animals. It is a fascinating sight to watch the animals around the water holes. Sambars, chitals, nilgais, chausinghas, jackals, wild boars and langurs can be easily spotted there.

The Ranthambore National Park is where natural heritage co-exists with architectural heritage. The Park is not just home to flora and fauna, but it is also home to the architectural ruins and splendors such as the Ranthambore Fort. The Park has a diverse terrain comprising of rocky plains, hills, cliffs and forests. You can enjoy a safari, wildlife photography, bird watching- with over 300 species of birds found here. The animals you can easily spot here are nilgai, black buck, spotted deer and wild boar.
