Himalayas are considered as the abode of gods as it has religious places like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Hemkund Saheb, and Amarnath. There are various hill stations in India having marvelous mountains in their background.

Leaving Delhi for the abode tour there are various places waiting to be seen and the first on the list is:

Shimla

This scenic city had derived its name from goddess 'Shayamla Devi'. Shimla came into limelight when the British discovered it in 1819. It has a stunning location and is profoundly blessed with all the natural bounties. This city is surrounded with the green meadows and snow-capped peaks. This cool city is teemed up with the artistic structures made during the colonial era, creating a unique ambience. Christ Church, the Mall, the Ridge and the Jakhu temple are few of the chief attractions.

Nainital

After moving on from Shimla the next destination is which is set amidst the hills of Kumaon- Naintal is a splendid hill station called Nainital. Nainital has derived its name from beautiful Lake Naina discovered by a Britisher Lord Barron in 1841. The picturesque location and surroundings of this cool city attract many tourists. Being a major tourist place, this city is always lively with visitors. Naina Lake, Naina peak, Hanuman Garhi, Bhimtal and Mall Road are prime attractions in Nanital.

Dalhousie

The breathtaking scenery teemed with architectural buildings and low roof stalls come together to form Dalhousie. This city is a gateway to Chamba Valley, another quaint town. Khajjiar, Dainkund, Kalatope, Subhash Baoli and Jandhri Ghat are the places you must visit.

After moving from Dalhousie the next hill station waiting to be discovered is Dharamshala. This city is the headquarters of famous Tibetan monk Dalai Lama. This lovely city is largely influenced by the British culture. Set against the backdrop of Dhauladhar Mountains, Dharmshala is surrounded by dense pine trees and Deodar forests. Visiting places like McLeodganj, Shrine of Bhagsunath, Dall Lake, St. John's church and Jwalamukhi temple is a visual treat.

Manali

This ancient town is surrounded with peaks which are lush green during summers and snow-capped during winter season. This scenic hill station is ideal place for sport lovers making for a great tourist attraction too. Prime attractions include Hidamaba Temple, Rohtang Pass, Temple of Manu, Arjun Gufa and Tibetan temple.

Mussoorie

This hill station is located in the Garhwal hills and is known as the 'Queen Of Hill Stations'. This city has many modern bungalows, well-laid gardens and small hills around the town that are enough to attract any tourist. It has many tourist attractions that include Lal Tibba, Gun Hill, Tibetan temple and Kempty Falls
